[Image taken 1.3.21] Blank hoardings on Palmer Street (LCN 658) at the Hungate development in York. See also: #165201, #165202, #165203, #165204. The painted rather than printed hoardings are dull and unattractive (compare with #165204). I wonder if the occupants of the flats overlooking the blank hoardings feel forgotten? Marketing (see #165201) might not be an improvement or appropriate at this location but the repeated image around the corner and at other locations in the same site (see #165204) are more attractive. However, Palmer Street continues to Hungate bridge over the Foss. Here lost tourists look around. They are searching for the continuation of the walking route on the city walls. Why is there no route help here for them? All the more surprising given the subject of the decorated panels in #165204. (See #165207 for an example of direction-giving on hoardings.) However, this route is well lit at all times. Plus, the fact it is directly overlooked means it is safe-feeling at all hours. Compare this with the ped-cycle route with hoardings in: #165208 (For all the hoardings images I've put up see: #165189.)
